I've had these tongs for several years now and I used them all the time. It's almost an all purpose tool, which can often replace the standard metal tongs or spatulas.
This is the tool I reach for when I saute almost anything. Since it's nylon, I can use it with any cookware and not worry about scratches. The tip has a little give and that actually makes it easier when using it to stir items in the saute pan. Also, it's a lot easier to grip items with these tongs rather than one of the tipped metal tongs, which has a hard and somewhat slippery nylon tip.
The problem that several other reviewers have with this tool is that they haven't quite figured out when to use these tongs. You have to remember that they are in fact nylon and extended exposure to high heat will cause it to soften and eventually melt. Even still, I've had no problems with melting and I seriously abuse these tongs. I even use them to flip and grab items I cook on my electric griddle.
They aren't stiff like metal tongs, so it does have a limit to the weight it can handle. You can't use them for pot roasts, but it has no problem handling chicken breasts or pork medallions.
