I ran across this pot when it was part of the Friday sale and figured it was a bargain for the price. Shipping was rapid - I ordered it on a Friday using the super saver option and received it the next Tuesday (it was shipped out the same day). This is a sturdy, attractive ahd huge pot that should hold plenty of pasta or whatever else you want to put into it. Previously I had been using a much smaller pot to cook pasta and it was very frustrating trying to fit it in and also let it cook properly. With this high quality Calphalon, that will no longer be a problem. This is really nice. The only negative comment I have is that I am dubious about the retail of this being $160 like it says in the listing - my box says it is a "gift" so I suspect it was originally intended to be a bonus or premium for ordering a large set of other Calphalon cookware. Still, it is definitely worth the price I paid and more.

Calphalon's 12qt Multipot set is the perfect pasta and soup pot that every kitchen needs! The pan features a heavy gauge aluminum base that quickly heats liquids. The pasta insert is more versatile than you might think, of course it works wonderfully for making your favorite pasta, but it is also wonderful for making your favorite stocks- simply cook with the insert in and pull out when your soup has simmered long enough and voila your stock is strained! The generous 12qt capacity is great for any size family, neither too big or too small. Remember when making pasta to use a large stockpot so that the water can flow between the pasta- if you crowd pasta into a small saucepan it tends to become sticky and gummy. 18/10 stainless construction looks great and is dishwasher safe. Heat tmepered glass lid for easy monitoring. A little helpful hint to keep your pans looking their best, clean with "Bar Keepers Friend" metal cleaner and a soft sponge (this stuff is inexpensive in most grocery stores and works great on all metals!). Safe for ceramic, glass and any surface requiring a flat bottomed pan.All Pans
