I never thought about the "quality" of the pots and pans I used before I bought this set! I recently purchased a smooth-topped electric range and my old pots and pans wouldn't do. I needed really good cookware, with a heavy bottom, that wouldn't warp when heated. I priced several different brands at different price points before settling on Calphalon and the Contemporary nonstick in particular, after purchasing a large, covered frying pan in that brand. I have been so very impressed with this cookware! I highly recommend it to everyone, because I love my cookware now.
Also, I purchased this from the Cookwarestore and I highly recommend them as well. When my new set of cookware arrived, there was a defect in the 8 quart stockpot. The folks at the Cookwarestore were wonderful and extremely responsive. I had a response to my first email within hours and they kept me informed at each step, all the way through the process of replacing the stockpot. One of the best experiences I've had with a seller on Amazon; they set the bar very high indeed!
