The stainless steel won't be harmed by metal utensils--and it's even dishwasher-safe.Like all of the products in Calphalon's moderately priced Pots & Pans line, this 8-quart stockpot offers exceptional value in good-looking, sturdy, and durable cookware. Built out of 18/10 stainless steel that is impact bonded to a highly conductive aluminum bottom, this cookware responds quickly to temperature changes and heats evenly across its entire surface. The brushed stainless exterior with mirror accents looks as elegant as anything with a higher price tag. And, thankfully, Calphalon seems to have discontinued its raised-dot interior surface in the stainless steel version of its Pots & Pans cookware; the dot pattern was intended to sear food and drain moisture, but many found it hard to clean.
